Health Alert: Jamaica, Extension of Travel Closure for Incoming Travels

Health Alert: U.S. Embassy Kingston, Jamaica (April 6, 2020)  

 

Location: Jamaica

 

Event:  The Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica has confirmed 58 cases of COVID-19 in Jamaica.

  • Please fill out this quick survey to inform us of STEP Registrants’ whereabouts
  • The government of Jamaica has extended its closure of incoming travel for another 14 days. Therefore, airports and ports will now be closed until April 18th.
  • International commercial flight options currently exist in Jamaica. U.S. citizens who wish to return to the United States should make commercial arrangements as soon as possible unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period.  Some airlines advise travelers that international travel may require proof of onward or return travel upon arrival at your destination.  U.S. citizens returning to the United States do not need to provide proof of onward travel.  The U.S. government does not anticipate arranging repatriation flights in Jamaica at this time.
  • An island-wide curfew is in effect from April 1 to April 8, 2020, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
