Overseas Security Advisory Council
Bureau of Diplomatic Security
U.S. Department of State
Through sponsorships, broadcasting and supplier agreements, normal business operations, and other programs, U.S. private sector organizations are often intricately involved in major events overseas. By collaborating with these organizations in advance of and during an event, OSAC seeks to assist security professionals with making informed decisions to protect their staff, guests, operations, and facilities.
For events with a large U.S. private-sector footprint, OSAC's Major Events Program will organize meetings, prepare security assessments, facilitate information sharing via a variety of online platforms, make introductions to event organizers and in-country security officials, and generally try to connect everyone with a private security responsibility for the event. For some events, OSAC will support constituents with an in-country team of analysts to help coordinate the real-time exchange of security and operational information.
Click on the arrow next to the event name below to view a description. To apply, click the 'Apply' or 'Join' button (Note: Constituents need to be logged into their OSAC account to see these options). Depending on which event you are applying to, you may be presented with additional membership questions. Once you have applied you will receive a submission confirmation email. For groups requiring approval, you will receive a second email and have access to the group the next time you navigate to this page. If you have additional questions about OSAC's Major Events Program or to suggest events for OSAC support consideration, please send an email to OSACMajorEvents@state.gov
