Security Alert: Kazakhstan, U.S. Embassy in Astana Encourages U.S. Citizens in Kazakhstan to Maintain Vigilance and Heightened Personal Security Awareness

Location: Almaty, Astana and other cities

Event: The U.S. Embassy in Astana encourages U.S. citizens in Kazakhstan to maintain vigilance and heightened personal security awareness related to increased tensions in the Middle East. The current conflict could lead terrorists to seek to attack soft targets perceived to be related to U.S., western, and Israeli/Jewish interests, such as cultural institutions, places of worship, and popular tourist areas.
