Health Alert: Burkina Faso, Government Implements Quarantine In All Cities With Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

Health Alert: U.S. Embassy Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (March 27, 2020)

Location: Burkina Faso

Event: The Burkina Faso Ministry of Health confirmed 180 cases of COVID-19 in Burkina Faso.

Effective March 16, 2020 U.S. Embassy Ouagadougou has suspended routine consular services. For after hours emergencies, please call (226) 25 49 53 00.

State local government actions:

The government has implemented a two-week quarantine in all cities where there have been confirmed cases of COVID-19. At this time, the following cities have been identified: Ouagadougou, Bobo-Dioulasso, Boromo, Banfora, Houndé, Dedougou, Manga and Zorgho. Transportation to or from these areas, and public services including schools and government offices are closed. Major public/outdoor markets have been closed in Ouagadougou.
