You should avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large crowds, gatherings, protests, or rallies. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.
On December 04, the U.S. Embassy will cancel routine consular appointments for U.S. citizens and visa applicants. In addition, on December 04, U.S. Embassy employees will maximize telework and limit the in-person school attendance of U.S. Embassy children.
