Travel Advisory: Zimbabwe - Level 2 (Exercise Increased Caution)

Exercise increased caution in Zimbabwe due to COVID-19 and crime.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 2 Travel Health Notice for Zimbabwe due to COVID-19, indicating a moderate amount of COVID-19 in the country. Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine. Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC's specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers.

Violent crime, such as assault, carjacking, and home invasion, is common among residents known to have large sums of cash. Smashing the windows of cars with the intent to steal is also common.

Local police lack the resources to respond effectively to serious criminal incidents.
