Demonstration Alert: London (United Kingdom), Protest Expected at U.S. Embassy on June 10

Location:  London, United Kingdom

 

Media and the Metropolitan Police report a planned demonstration is expected to take place at the U.S. Embassy on Monday, June 10, 2024. 

 

U.S. citizens are encouraged to avoid areas of demonstrations and always exercise caution within the vicinity of demonstrations or if caught in a demonstration.  Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate to violence.  Do not attempt to drive or walk through a demonstration.  Road closures and transportation services may be impacted over the weekend, U.S. citizens are encouraged to monitor local transportation information and coordinate travel routes accordingly.

Demonstrations in London are frequent and may occur throughout the summer season.  They can often attract large crowds at popular tourist destinations, such as Parliament Square, Westminster, and associated bridges.
