The Notting Hill Carnival is scheduled to take place in London, August 24 – 26, 2024. The Carnival attracts over one million attendees across the three days. In years past, Metropolitan Police have reported multiple arrests at the Notting Hill Carnival, some involving violence, weapons, stabbings, and assaults on police. U.S. citizens are encouraged to exercise caution, avoid large crowds, and be mindful of personal security. The U.S. Embassy has recommended that any of its staff who choose to attend the event do so in the mornings, and depart before the afternoon and evening portions of the Carnival.
