Location:  Ukraine

Event: Poor Air Quality in Kyiv Region

Due to high winds and forest fires in Zhytomyr region and the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, Kyiv is experiencing elevated levels of air pollution and the Kyiv authorities have recommended that citizens limit their outdoor activities, especially at night and in the early morning.  Radiation levels in the capital remain within normal limits, according to the Kyiv City State Administration. 

Actions to Take:

·  Stay indoors as much as possible

·  Keep windows closed

·  Use air conditioning and air purification systems

·  If you experience shortness of breath or coughing, consult your doctor.
