Security Alert: Ukraine, Increase in Drone and Missile Attacks Connected to Ukraine's Independence Day

Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Kyiv, Ukraine (August 23, 2023)
Location: Ukraine, all districts

Event: The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv anticipates there may be an increase in both nighttime and daytime drone and missile attacks throughout Ukraine during the next several days in connection with Ukraine’s Independence Day on August 24.

Actions to Take:

Monitor local media for updates
Identify shelter locations in advance of any air alert
Immediately take shelter if an air alert is announced
Follow the directions of Ukrainian officials and first responders in the event of an emergency
