Health Alert: Togo, COVID-19 Curfew Update

Curfew Alert - U. S. Embassy Lomé, Togo - December 21, 2020 

Location: Lomé, and Republic of Togo.

 

Event: Curfew

 

  • In Lomé, a nightly curfew (from 2200 to 0500) will be effective as of Sunday, December 20 through Sunday, January 3.  Exceptions will be on December 24, 25, and 31 when the curfew will start at 2300.

 

  • Outside of Loméin the rest of the Republic of Togo, the curfew will take place on December 24, 25 and 31 and on the 1st of January 2021 from 23:00 to 05:00.

Actions to take:

 

 

  • No drinking at bars between December 20 and January 3.  Dancing clubs (nightclubs) remain closed.

 

  • Gatherings of more than 15 people are prohibited.

 

  • Cultural and commercial events (shows, advertising events) and celebrations (weddings, baptisms, etc.) are prohibited from December 20 through January 3.

 

  • Celebrations of worship are banned except one day per week (Friday for Muslims and Sunday for Christians) from December 20 to January 3.  Celebrations are permitted on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1 in strict compliance with the measures and curfew schedules.  In Lome, these are permitted only in places of worship previously authorized to open.

 

  • Everyone must adhere to the barrier measures such as hand washing, masking and distancing – at all times and in all places.
