Security Alert: Madrid (Spain), Demonstration Expected on September 16

Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy (Madrid, Spain) (September 16, 2025)

Location: Calle Serrano, across from the Embassy in Madrid

Event:  A demonstration is expected to take place on September 16 sometime between 08:00 and 22:00 in front of the Embassy.  Expect possible traffic disruptions and an increased police presence in the area and surrounding streets. Counterprotests may occur. U.S. citizens should monitor local media for updates on demonstrations in their area.

Public access to the Embassy may be affected.  The Embassy plans to continue with routine and emergency consular services as scheduled.

  • Avoid demonstrations
  • Keep a low profile
  • Be aware of your surroundings
