Health Alert: Juba (South Sudan), Consular Changes due to COVID-19

Health Alert – U. S. Embassy Juba, South Sudan (December 23, 2021)

 

Location: Juba and throughout South Sudan

 

Event: Limited Consular Operations (December 23, 2021)

 

In light of COVID-19, U.S. Embassy Juba has suspended all routine passport and other consular services as of December 23, 2021.

 

Please note that if you are overseas and your passport expired on or after January 1, 2020, you may be able to use your expired passport to return directly to the United States. You can read more to see if you qualify here.

If you have imminent travel plans to the United States and do not qualify to return on an expired passport, please contact the Embassy to apply for an emergency passport ONLY. Please send a short explanation on why your travel is urgent with evidence of imminent travel in an email to ACSJuba@state.gov.

Due to reduced operations, if you have previously applied for a passport or citizenship services, such as a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), you may experience a delay receiving your document. If you are in this situation and have urgent travel planned, please contact us at ACSJuba@state.gov
