Security Alert: South Sudan, Security Developments in Sudan

Location: South Sudan

Event: The U.S. Embassy in South Sudan advises U.S. citizens of ongoing clashes that broke out in neighboring Sudan on April 14, 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. The Embassy is tracking developments in Sudan and will share additional information as warranted.

Actions to Take:

· Review your personal security plan.

· Be aware of your surroundings and keep a low profile.

· Avoid demonstrations and crowds.

· Notify friends and family of your safety.

· Monitor local media for updates.

· Review the Department of State travel advisory for South Sudan.
