Message: Notice for U.S. Citizens: Demonstration at U.S. Embassy

Event: U.S. Embassy Bratislava is aware of a call for demonstrations at U.S. and Israeli embassies and consulates across Europe today, April 25, at 5.00 PM. These activities may extend through the April 26-27 weekend. Online postings by the organizers have called the event “Gaza’s Call: Besiege the U.S. Embassies” with a request to supporters to take action and participate in demonstrations and/or sit-ins in front of U.S. Embassies. We are not aware of any specific threat to the U.S. Embassy in Bratislava, though it is important to maintain awareness when in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy throughout the weekend.
Actions to Take:
- Avoid demonstrations, if possible;
- Be cautious of your surroundings and practice situational awareness at all times;
- Monitor local media for updates;
- Stay aware of spontaneous counter-protests;
- If altercations or violence occurs, remove yourself and any family/group members from the area immediately to a safe location (police officer, known public area, etc.);
- Set a predetermined time and location to meet with friends and family should you become separated.
