The Embassy has received reports that there are protests throughout Senegal, including in the areas of Colobane, Fass, Medina and Liberte 6 in Dakar, as well as in Thies, Mbour, and Saint Louis. Reports indicate that security forces have deployed tear gas in some of these areas. U.S. citizens are strongly encouraged to use caution and avoid areas of unrest.

- Monitor local media for updates.
- Avoid crowds.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
