U.S. Embassy Dakar is currently tracking a government approved planned march in support of the Palestinian people on Sunday May 26th from 0900. The proposed route is from the RTS circle to Porte du Millenaire on the Corniche in the Medina area of Dakar.
U.S citizens are reminded that demonstrations or other political gatherings can occur spontaneously in other regions of Dakar or around the country.
Demonstrations in any location or hour can quickly turn confrontational and escalate into violence, so U.S. citizens are reminded to remain vigilant and avoid any areas where such events are ongoing.
U.S. Embassy Dakar recommends monitoring local news sources and exercising personal security awareness.

- Avoid crowds.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
