ALERT: TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE FOR ZUGUINCHOR
The U.S. Embassy is aware of the following restrictions on roads in Ziguinchor: on the RN-4, RN-5 and Departmental Road 205.
- Travel on the RN-4, between Ziguinchor and Oulampane are only authorized between 07 am and 6pm.
- Travel on the RN-5 between Bignona and Seleti (border with the Gambia) are only authorized between 08 am to 4 pm.
- Travel on the Departmental Road 205, between Diouloulou and Kafountine are only authorized between 08 am and 4 pm.
U.S. citizens are reminded you are subject to the local laws and regulations while visiting or living in a foreign country and urged to comply with them.
Actions to take:
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Avoid crowds.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
