Event: The U.S. Embassy in Kigali is aware of the Rwandan government’s announcement regarding temporary road closures in Kigali during the 2025 UCI Road World Championship, scheduled from September 21 to September 28, 2025. Due to anticipated transportation disruptions, the Embassy is authorizing employees to work remotely from September 22 to September 26, 2025. During this period, all routine in-person services, including American Citizen Services and visa interviews, will be suspended. U.S. travelers in or around Kigali are advised to follow the guidance outlined below.
