In addition to commercial departure options, the Department is coordinating transportation out of the region and can manifest Americans who have completed the crisis intake form as space is available.

If you choose to not take advantage of departure options available, Americans should be prepared to shelter in place in a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.
Options to Depart
The U.S. Embassy in Doha is offering overland and air options to leave Qatar.
If you choose not to use Embassy-provided options, there are additional ways to leave Qatar.
- Limited commercial flights are currently operating out of Qatar. You can contact Qatar Airways at +974-4144-5555, if you flew with them.
- There are overland routes to Saudi Arabia where commercial options are available to depart the region.
Shelter in Place
- The U.S. Embassy in Doha continues to maintain shelter-in-place for all remaining emergency personnel. We recommend all Americans in Qatar do the same until further notice. To the extent possible, remain inside your residence, hotel, or another structure, and stay away from windows. Please remain vigilant, as the Iranian government and its proxies may seek to target Americans in retaliation for U.S. strikes against Iran.
Embassy Doha Operations
- The U.S. Embassy in Doha has suspended all routine consular services until further notice. Americans should contact ACSDoha@state.gov in case of emergency.
Actions to Take
- Maintain communication with family and friends to inform them of your status.
- Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
- Find a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.
- In case of an attack, stay away from any debris, and monitor news outlets for official guidance.
- Avoid protests and demonstrations, keep a low profile, and stay aware of your surroundings.
- Pay close attention to communications from local officials.
- Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive safety and security updates from the U.S. Embassy.
