Security Alert: Update on Rail Service Following Machu Picchu Area Train Collision

Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Perú

 

 

Event:

 

U.S. Embassy Lima has been informed that both PeruRail and IncaRail have been running trains to the Aguas Calientes station and moving people to Ollantaytambo.  We have been told that about 400 people have been removed from the station so far.  Please attempt to reach representatives of the two rail service providers with any questions about train arrival and departure times.  If you have been using the services of a travel company, please reach out to them for adjustments to travel plans.

If you have been able to leave the area, please let your friends and family know.
