Event: The U.S. Embassy is monitoring reports of congested traffic and the firing of tear gas in the vicinity of Sir Hubert Murray Stadium where Highlands Cultural Day activities are taking place. There are indications that opportunists may be taking advantage of the crowds and disruptions.
U.S. citizens are advised to avoid the area near the stadium, use alternate routes when traveling, and exercise increased caution with moving around Port Moresby.
