Health Alert: Nigeria, Guidelines for Eased Lockdown

Health Alert: U.S. Mission Nigeria (May 4, 2020)

Location:  Lagos, Nigeria 

Event:  Guidelines for Eased Lockdown

 

Effective May 4, 2020, the Nigerian Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 introduced guidelines for eased lockdown in Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun State. In public spaces, the following will be mandatory:

 

· Improvised face masks

· Temperature Checks

· Handwashing facilities and hand sanitizers

· Physical distance of two meters

· No sport activities and mass gathering

 

Passenger flights and interstate travel (except essential services) are prohibited, and there is a mandatory supervised isolation of returnees for 14 days.

 

Neighborhood markets may open three times a week from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Banks and financial services, government offices (with limited staffing), and corporate offices may operate from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Schools, churches, mosques, clubs, bars, and gardens remain closed until further notice.

·         Visit the Department of Homeland Security’s website on the latest travel restrictions to the United States
