On December 11, 2024, the Nicaraguan National Assembly approved the “Law for the Regulation and Use of Unmanned Air, Naval, and Land Resources.” Under this law, the use of drones is prohibited unless authorized by the Presidency. Drone owners must deliver drones to the Ministry of the Interior (MINT) no later than January 10, 2025
Drones have been banned in Nicaragua since 2014, under an administrative notice issued by the Nicaraguan Institute of Civil Aeronautics.
