Update: New Zealand Remains at Alert Level 3 until August 30, 2020
On August 24, the Government of New Zealand announced that the Auckland region will remain at Alert Level 3 until 11:59 pm on Sunday, August 30. In accordance with New Zealand guidelines, the U.S. Consulate in Auckland is closed for all routine services while Auckland remains at Alert Level 3.
Emergency passport services will be considered on a case-by-case basis. If you have an urgent need to travel and are in need of an emergency passport, please email: AucklandACS@state.gov.
Update: Face Coverings and Social Distancing
Please note that the Government of New Zealand has mandated the use of face coverings on buses, trains, ferries, and in taxis, Ubers and on all flights. The Government strongly encourages the use of face coverings at Alert Level 2 and 3 when you are outside your home and in a place where it is hard to stay 2 meters/6 feet away from other people.
Face coverings are encouraged when visiting U.S. Consulate Auckland for an appointment. The U.S. Consulate will be practicing social distancing through the use of social distanced stickers indicating where you must stand while waiting for a consular appointment. To ensure that social distancing is possible, please come on time to your appointment. Applicants arriving to their appointment too early will not be permitted to enter the consulate. Applicants arriving too late to their appointment will need to reschedule for a later date.
