The United States Mission to the Netherlands is carefully monitoring protests and attacks against Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv football club supporters in the city of Amsterdam on and around November 7, 2024.  These attacks resulted in multiple serious injuries.  Amsterdam city authorities have designated the municipalities of Amsterdam and Amstelveen as security risk areas and deployed additional police presence throughout the city. All U.S. citizens are advised to exercise caution and to avoid protests or large gatherings that may be encountered.

  • Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
