Effective immediately Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur municipalities are no longer under curfew/prohibitory periods. Be aware that curfews may still be in effect in other parts of Nepal. Due to varying curfew orders across Nepal, the Embassy has advised employees to refrain from travel outside Kathmandu Valley at present.
Due to the fluid security situation, we advise all citizens to avoid crowds, consider alternate routes/times to avoid potential disruptions, and stay alert for changing conditions. Please comply with the instructions of security personnel (Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and/or Armed Police Force).
