Event: The U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu advises U.S. citizens that Nepali media outlets are reporting that demonstrations are currently being held in Lalitpur’s Balkumari area in southwest Kathmandu and have turned violent. As with any demonstration, the locations may change or migrate outside these areas. We recommend avoiding this area and crowds, and considering alternate routes/times to avoid these demonstrations.
