Demonstration Alert: U.S. Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal September 11th 2025

The Nepal Army has issued the below schedule for movements today and at least through tomorrow, Friday, September 12:

Permitted Time for Urgent Activities and Movement from 6:00 AM to 09:00 AM
Curfew from 09:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Permitted Time for Urgent Activities and Movement from 5:00PM to 7:00PM
Curfew from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM

We advise all U.S. citizens to strictly adhere to the new curfew rules.

Domestic and international tourists with valid air tickets will be allowed to travel to the airport during prohibited times. The Nepali Army has provided a support line at +977 01-597-9224 if you need any assistance while transiting to the airport.
