Event: Protests and demonstrations are being organized by pro-monarchy groups and Youth Force Nepal, a sister organization of the CPN UML party.
On May 29, 2025, pro-monarchy groups will hold protests and demonstrations in Kathmandu, coinciding with the Republic Day rally organized by Youth Force Nepal, a sister organization of the CPN UML party. Traffic congestion is expected in core road sections, while Nepali law enforcement personnel will be deployed for security and public safety. The initial protest venue is scheduled for Shanti Batika at Ratna Park. This may change. Please avoid crowds and consider alternate routes/times to avoid potential disruptions. Follow local media for changing conditions.
Additionally, these demonstrations could result in disruptions to traffic in various locations throughout the Kathmandu valley, sometimes far from the actual demonstration areas.
