Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens: New Caledonia, Tropical Cyclone Donna
The U.S. Embassy in Suva, Fiji, informs U.S. citizens residing in or visiting New Caledonia of severe tropical cyclone (TC) Donna. Regional meteorological services believe this cyclone will directly impact New Caledonia beginning today, Tuesday, May 8, 2017.
It is expected that TC Donna will make landfall as a Category 5 cyclone. Winds from 120-180 kph are expected. The storm will bring significant rainfall and the sea will be extremely rough.
