Event: A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Burma (Myanmar) on March 28, 2025. The epicenter occurred near the city of Mandalay. We are receiving reports of damage to structures and infrastructure—including transportation routes leading out of Mandalay and telephone connectivity. The airport in Mandalay is reportedly closed.
The U.S. Embassy in Rangoon has suspended all non-emergency consular services for the remainder of Friday, March 28, 2025.
