U.S. Citizen Town Hall on September30, 2025 at the U.S. Embassy in Maputo
The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Maputo will hold a town hall meeting for U.S. citizens on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The town hall will provide U.S. citizens an opportunity to meet the U.S. Embassy’s new Chargé d’Affaires, Abigail L. Dressel, and learn more about U.S. citizen services at the Embassy, emergency preparedness, the smart traveler enrolment program (STEP), and the citizen volunteer liaison program.
The location and time of the event will be sent to attendees 24 hours prior to the event due to security considerations. Space is limited, so in-person attendance will be limited. We will broadcast the town hall live via Zoom or similar online meeting platform if there is enough interest.
Please send us an email to MaputoUSCitizens@state.gov by Friday, September 19, 2025, if you would like to attend. Please include the following information in your email for each participant:
- Complete name (last, first, and middle names – as written on government-issued identification)
- Date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy format)
- Identification type (i.e., passport or national identification card)
- Relationship to immediate relative U.S. citizen currently residing in Mozambique (Non-U.S. Citizens only)
We will email admission tickets to attendees prior to the event. Attendees must present both their ticket and the U.S. passport for themselves or immediate relation to enter.
We look forward to meeting you!
