Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (December 13, 2022)

Location:  Announced gathering points include, but are not limited to, the following locations in Ulaanbaatar:

• Sukhbaatar Square
  
  

Event:  Sukhbaatar Square continues to experience daily protests since December 4, 2022, with demonstrators numbering from the hundreds to over a couple thousand.  Expect police presence and traffic disruptions to continue as well.  U.S. citizens are advised to avoid large crowds and demonstrations and to practice sound security awareness.

• Avoid crowds.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Avoid the areas of the demonstrations.
• Practice sound security awareness.
• Review your personal security plans.
