Event: Moldovan parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025.
The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens residing in or traveling to Moldova to exercise heightened caution during the Moldovan parliamentary election period.
U.S. citizens are urged to avoid large gatherings and areas where such events are taking place and remain vigilant. U.S. citizens are encouraged to take the following precautions:
- Avoid the area: Avoid areas where political demonstrations, rallies, or large gatherings are taking place.
- Monitor local media: Stay informed about developments and updates regarding election-related activities.
- Avoid crowds and demonstrations: Large gatherings can be unpredictable and may pose safety risks.
- Keep a low profile: Avoid engaging in political discussions or activities.
- Be aware of your surroundings: Exercise vigilance, especially in areas frequented by tourists or expatriates.
- Notify friends and family of your safety: Keep loved ones informed of your whereabouts and well-being.
- Carry proper identification: Always have your U.S. passport and any required visas readily accessible.
U.S. Embassy Chisinau reminds U.S. citizens of the need to remain cautious and aware of personal security, and to review emergency procedures, as outlined in the State Department’s Worldwide Caution Travel Advisory.
The Embassy will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional information as needed.
