OSAC Bureau of Diplomatic Security U.S. Department of State
On Sunday, March 8, there are disruptions expected throughout the city due to the International Women’s Day march. This will be from the Columbus roundabout on Paseo de la Reforma (aka – “Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan”) to the Zocalo. Other groups will gather at different points along Reforma, including the Mexican Revolution monument, the Diana roundabout, and the Angel of Independence, to join the main protest at 12:00 pm in the Zocalo.Given previous activity by these groups, vandalism and/or violence is possible at both protests. Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid active protests and exercise caution with large gatherings or demonstrations.
