Alert: Maldives, Travel Advisory Inadvertently Included Old State of Emergency Language

On May 2, the State Department released a Travel Advisory for the Maldives, inadvertently including old language about a State of Emergency. Currently, there is no State of Emergency in the Maldives; the language referenced an old State of Emergency under the previous government. The Level 2 Travel Advisory has been in place since 2018, and the security environment has not changed. The Department has released a corrected Travel Advisory addressing this issue.
