Subject: Demonstration Alert: Planned Demonstrations Near U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur City Center – October 24-26, 2025
Location: Near U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur City Center at the Ampang Park train station
Event: Demonstrations against U.S. foreign policy are scheduled on Friday, October 24 starting at 2:00 p.m. near the U.S. Embassy; on Saturday, October 25 starting at 7:30 p.m. traveling from the National Zoo to the U.S. Embassy; and on Sunday, October 26 starting at 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. near the Kuala Lumpur City Center neighborhood at the Ampang Park train station. U.S. citizens should monitor local media for updates.
There is no indication at this time that these demonstrations will turn violent, but as with any large gathering, tensions can escalate unexpectedly and with little warning. U.S. citizens should exercise caution and avoid protest areas. Please remember that it is illegal for non-Malaysians to participate in demonstrations in Malaysia.
U.S. citizens are urged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP ) to receive security alerts.
