Weather Alert: Luxembourg, Flood Warning Alerts for Several Parts of the Country

Luxembourg's government flood warning service has announced red and orange alerts for several parts of the country. MeteoLux and official websites have announced a risk of major floods that could have a significant impact on people and property, even in areas that are rarely flooded.

Water levels on the Alzette River and its tributaries are expected to rise rapidly on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The Alzette is expected to exceed flood levels in the late evening or after midnight.

A flood alert is also in effect for the Sûre River, potentially impacting Diekirch and Bollendorf in the late evening of Tuesday, January 2, 2023 or on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
