Traffic Alert: Monrovia (Liberia), August 22

Event: Due to ongoing police operations around CDC headquarters and related traffic disruptions, all U.S. Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid travelling through Congo Town at this time. Alternative routes in and out of Monrovia should be used via Somalia Drive. Please plan your travel accordingly.

Actions to Take:

Avoid large crowds.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Monitor local media for updates.
Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
Keep a low profile.
Prepare for delays in travel and have funds to cover these delays.
