Demonstration Alert - U. S. Embassy Monrovia, Liberia (November 14, 2022)

Location: Monrovia, Liberia

Event: The U.S. Embassy has received reports of a protest at the Ministry of Information in the Capitol Hill area on UN Drive. Large crowds and law enforcement are present. There have been no reports of violence at this point, but there is always a potential for escalation.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid the areas surrounding the demonstration locations.  Even peaceful demonstrations may turn violent.
• Avoid large crowds.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
• Keep a low profile.
