Demonstration Alert – U. S. Embassy Monrovia, Liberia (June 9, 2025)

Event:   The U.S. Embassy in Monrovia has received reports that the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) is planning a peaceful protest from their headquarters in Congo Town to Monrovia City Court on Monday, June 9, 2025.  The Embassy advises that individuals planning on traveling in Monrovia on June 9 should expect heavy traffic and an increase in law enforcement activity.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid large crowds.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
• Keep a low profile.
• Prepare for delays in travel and have funds to cover these delays.
