Security Alert: Beirut (Lebanon), Continue to Exercise Increased Caution in the Region, June 16

Security Alert – U.S. Embassy Beirut (June 16, 2025) – Continue to Exercise Increased Caution in the Region: Flight Disruptions

Location: Lebanon

Event: Due to ongoing regional events, we remind U.S. citizens to continue to exercise caution and encourage them to monitor the news for breaking developments.

Over the past several days, the U.S. Embassy notes some airlines have suspended or cancelled flights; however, Lebanese airspace and Beirut Airport are currently open and commercial transportation options to leave Lebanon remain available but limited. Please check for available flight options at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport.

We recommend U.S. citizens in Lebanon monitor Travel.State.Gov  for alerts and the news closely for breaking developments that could affect internal security. We recommend U.S. citizens enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)  to receive alerts and make it easier for us to locate you in an emergency. As advised in the Travel.State.Gov  Lebanon Travel Advisory , U.S. citizens should avoid travel to Lebanon.
