Event: According to media reports, demonstrations that have not received approval by the government are planned for Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
· Astana: Demonstrators may possibly gather near the Kenesary Khan Monument.
· Almaty: Demonstrators may possibly gather near the central entrance of Gorky Park.
Smaller demonstrations are possible in other cities. A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are possible in the vicinity of the demonstrations.
Non-sanctioned demonstrations can end with mass arrests. Embassy personnel have been instructed to avoid demonstrations and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings.

· Avoid demonstrations.
· Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings of people or police.
· Monitor local media for updates.
