Subject: Security Alert: Shooting and Police Activity on Road to Airport in Kingston (21 March 2023)

Location: South Camp Road between Glenmore Road and Queen Street

 

Event: A serious shooting and corresponding police activity has been reported on South Camp Road between Glenmore Road and Queen Street.  Roads are closed to traffic and no vehicles can pass in the area.  U.S. Embassy personnel have been instructed to avoid the area for the duration of the police activity.  Personnel travelling to the airport have been instructed to take a secondary route via Mountain View Avenue until the police activity has dispersed.

 

Actions to take:

·        Avoid the area of South Camp Road between Glenmore Road and Queen Street.

·        Monitor local media for updates.

·        Avoid crowds and demonstrations.
