Weather Alert: St. George’s (Grenada), Embassy Temporary Closure due to Hurricane Beryl

Event: Due to the continued impact of Hurricane Beryl, the U.S. Embassy in St. George’s will be closed for routine operations and American Citizen Services on Friday, July 5. U.S. citizens may contact the Embassy at the after-hours emergency number +1-473 407-2495. The Embassy anticipates a return to normal services on Monday, July 8, 2024.

U.S. citizens needing assistance departing Carriacou and/or returning to the United States can contact the U.S. Embassy in Grenada during regular hours at (473) 444-1177 or by email at Stgeorgesacs@state.gov. Please share this message with other U.S. citizens who might not have received it.

Action to Take: 

• Monitor local media and the National Hurricane Center website  for updates and the latest forecast.
• Have travel documents up to date and easily accessible.
• Review local and regional emergency management organizations for information on emergency preparedness, including the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency 
• Seek secure shelter if weather conditions deteriorate.
• Store fresh water if services are impacted.
• Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program  to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
