Event: Ongoing seismic activity in the vicinity of Amorgos, Santorini (Thira), Anafi, and Ios Islands
The U.S. Mission in Greece alerts U.S. citizens to a series of earthquakes near the Greek islands of Amorgos, Santorini (Thira), Anafi, and Ios. More than 200 earthquakes were detected between Amorgos, Santorini (Thira), Anafi, and Ios, including up to 4.5 magnitude quakes, according to local authorities.
The U.S. Mission in Greece reminds U.S. citizens to exercise caution in affected areas.
Following increased seismic activity, the Greek Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has issued advice for Amorgos, Santorini (Thira), Anafi, and Ios, including not to attend large indoor gatherings and to avoid old or abandoned buildings.

In case of a strong tremor, people should immediately depart coastal areas.
