Location: Athens and Thessaloniki
Event: The U.S. Embassy Athens and Consulate General Thessaloniki will close to the public at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, due to anticipated traffic disruptions as a result of a planned demonstration beginning at 7:00 p.m. In Athens, demonstrations will begin in Freedom Park (Parko Eleftherias, located on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, next to Megaron/Athens Concert Hall), passing the U.S. Embassy, and continuing on to the Embassy of Israel. In Thessaloniki, demonstrators will gather at the Venizelos statue on Egnatia Street following an anticipated route toward Agia Sofia Street to Tsimiski Street, and the U.S. Consulate. This route is subject to change.
