Location: Charles University Philosophy Faculty Building and Municipal Library at Marianske Namesti

Event:  The areas surrounding the Charles University Philosophy Faculty Building and Municipal Library at Marianske Namesti are cleared following the December 21 shooting.  No U.S. citizens were killed or injured. The immediate area around the Charles University Philosophy Faculty Building through the weekend remains a crime scene under investigation with a large police presence.  Please plan accordingly for any travel in the area.  You may call the police crisis hotline at +420-974-823-158 for queries or check English.Radio.CZ for updates.

Actions to Take

  • Avoid the area of the event.
  • Plan for traffic delays and disruption to public transportation.
  • Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
