Global Health and Travel Advisories: The Department of State still advises U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel due to the global impact of COVID-19. For additional information, please see the Global Level 4 Health Advisory issued by the Department of State for COVID-19.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Global COVID-19 Pandemic Notice. CDC recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential international travel.
Entrance Restrictions: As of July 1, 2020, all EU/EEA nationals and individuals holding permanent residence in the EU/EEA countries can enter Croatia freely, without restrictions. All other foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, may enter the Croatia for business, tourism, or other pressing personal reasons, if they provide relevant proof. Upon entry to Croatia, individuals are given a Pamphlet with Recommendations and Instructions from the Croatian Institute of Public Health that they must follow for 14 days. Travelers may still be ordered to self-isolate or spend 14 days in official government quarantine facilities if deemed necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19; placement in quarantine is at the expense of the traveler.
Flight Availability: Travelers from Croatia now have connections to major hub airports both inside and outside of Europe with onward connections to the United States. Croatia Airlines operates more than 70 weekly international and domestic flights.
Overseas Voting: U.S. citizens living overseas can vote absentee in their state’s upcoming election, no matter where they are. The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential impact it may have on the election cycle.
